Holiday Party Makeup

Holiday Party Makeup

The holidays are always the best excuse to get dolled up!

Here’s my holiday party look for this year!

Eyes: In honor of the holidays, I went for a “champagne” eye this year! I used my Urban Decay Naked Basics pallet and blended some light browns in my crease area. Then, I added a gold shimmery color from Flower Cosmetics on my eyelids. After that, I took a  pretty white color from the UD pallet and placed it on my brow bones and in the corners of my eyes.

For my lashes, I applied a couple coats of Loreal’s Voluminous Butterfly Lashes  Mascara (top and bottom) and let it dry. Then I took a pair of ELF false lashes in Natural, and cut them in half so they were just enough for the outer corners of my eyes.

For my liner, I used Maybelline’s Eye Studio Liner in Blackest Black – and applied it with an ELF angled liner brush. I took the same brush and smudged out the line a little bit on the outer corners of my eyes for a “smokey” effect.

I used ELF’s eyebrow kit in Medium to fill in my brows.

Face:  First things first, I moisturized! Then I applied my foundation (MAC Studio Sculpt in NW20) all over my face with a Real Techniques buffing brush. I highlighted (middle of my forehead, tops of cheekbones, under eye area, nose and chin) and concealed using Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Concealer. I used MAC’s Mineralized Bronzer in Give Me Sun on the hollows of my cheeks, top of my forehead, and down my neck. Then I added a little bit of Maybelline’s Fit Me Blush in Medium Pink to my cheeks!

Lips: I moisturized my lips with lip balm – so that the red pigment of the lipstick would really “settle in”. I lined my lips with a Sephora Brand red lip pencil. I filled in my lips with NYX’s Lipstick in Chic Red. I wasn’t too happy with the red color of that lipstick alone (it turned out more pink on me) so I layered it with Milani’s Lipstick in Red Label.

**Earrings: The Dollar Store (yes, you read that right)

**Hair: I used a Hot Tools 1 inch curling iron to create loose waves.

While getting dolled up is fun, in real life – most  of my days are spent in yoga pants, with no makeup and a messy bun on the top of my head.

And blogging with 2 kids under the age of 3? That’s a whole challenge within itself!

Here’s are a couple of “real life” pictures of trying to blog with babies! (And yes, Maverick is spitting up on me in one picture.)

I hope that you all have a WONDERFUL Christmas, and a beautiful New Year!
