After all, only YOU know your baby’s needs better than anyone else in the world, amen? ūüôā XOXO – Risse

#1 – Dr. Brown’s Bottles

I pump breast milk and supplement for my babies. And trust me when I say, I’ve tried every kind of bottle. Avent, Tommee Tippee, The Honest Company, Platex…we’ve had them all. And I ALWAYS end up back to Dr.Browns. Here’s a description from the Dr.Brown’s website:

Favored by moms and dads because they reduce feeding problems like colic, spit-up, burping, and gas.¬†The¬†Patented Internal Vent System¬†eliminates air and vacuum to allow baby to feed comfortably. It also reduces air bubble oxidation of the milk to help preserve vitamins and lipids, key nutrients to baby’s health.

The fully-vented bottle design provides vacuum-free feeding, like breastfeeding, which can also help reduce build-up of fluid in baby’s ear.

The only downside is that there are more parts to clean than other bottles –¬†but I really don’t mind because they do such a good job of getting rid of all the air bubbles in the bottle. Which is so important because both of my boys are gassy and tend to spit up. You can get these bottles in small 4 oz or tall 8 oz sizes, as well as regular or wide neck.

#2- Munchkin Diaper Pail

Babies are so cute, but their little diapers can be stiiiinky. And if you throw diapers away in the regular trash, you are going to end up with a stinky home. This diaper pail keeps all that stink in it’s proper place. It has an odor control system that dispenses a little bit of baking soda every time you close the lid. The pail itself only costs $25 and the baggy refills are about $6. It can hold up to 25 diapers and it’s nice and compact so it doesn’t take up much room in the nursery.

#3- Boba Wrap

I wish I would have had this wrap with my first born. With Bronson, I just toted him around everywhere in his carseat or the stroller. With Maverick, I’m so glad I decided to use this wrap. It makes life so much easier! I can carry Mav around and still have both hands free to push Bronson in the swing or help him whatever he needs help with. The material is so soft and it’s machine washable. I love having Maverick all snuggled up on my chest and more importantly¬†he loves to be in the wrap. The Boba wrap costs about $40 on Amazon.

#4- Brica Baby In-Sight Soft-Touch Mirror

This is a MUST have. The new California rules suggest that babies need to be rear-facing in their carseats until they are 2 years old. And when you are driving, it’s so nice to be able to see what they are doing {or figure out why they are fussing!}. It’s also comforting to me that I can see Maverick if I’m driving or if I’m in the passenger seat when Daniel’s driving. The Brica mirror costs about $12 on Amazon.

#5- Amazon Subscribe and Save

As you can tell – most of my suggestions are based on products that I have purchased Amazon. It’s seriously my go-to website for pretty much anything and everything under the sun. They always have what I’m looking for and they ALWAYS have the best prices. Plus I’m a Prime member so I get everything delivered for free, within 2 days time. Amazon also has a “Subscribe and Save” option for a lot of the products that people re-order the most! For me, this means diapers and wipes.¬†With Subscribe and Save, most items are 20% off and you can pick how often you want them delivered. It’s a mom’s dream – just when you are getting low on diapers and wipes…BOOM! Another shipment is at your door!

Here’s an example of what I pay for a case of Luv’s Diapers:

#6- Fisher Price Rock N’ Play

I ¬†absolutely could not survive without the Fisher Price Rock N’ Play. I know, it sounds dramatic- but for reals, it’s true. I have used it with both of my boys as sort of a “co-sleeper” when they are newborns. It’s compact and fits perfectly right next to my side of the bed so I can see my baby’s precious little face during the night. The Rock N Play is angled so that the babies are propped up a little bit, which helps with gas, digestion and reflux issues. My mom got us a new one for Maverick that has a vibrating option, which is also super soothing for babies. And it’s collapsable so you can fold it up and take it with you wherever you go! They cost about $60, but I’m telling you – it’s worth EV-ER-Y penny!¬†

#7- Graco Sweet Slumber Noise Machine

I personally can’t sleep without some white noise or a fan in my room – and now I’ve passed that little quirk along to my kids. This noise machine is awesome. It has lots of options for sounds: white noise, womb sounds, nature noises, classical music OR you can plug your iPhone into it and play your music through the speakers! You can pick one up for about $45.

#8- Luvs Diapers

After much trial and error with two kids, Luv’s Diapers are my all time favorite. They are much better priced than Pampers and they are WAY better at preventing leaks than Huggies. With Amazon Subscribe and Save, Pampers Size 1 break down to about $.18 a diaper, while the Luvs cost just $.10 a diaper. And don’t even get me started on Huggies. They might work for some people, but my boys would leak within the first 5 minutes of me putting them in a Huggies diaper. I have NEVER had that problem with Luvs! They are great quality and they can hold lots of baby “fluids” without a single leak. I wish I would have discovered them sooner, instead of spending the extra money on Pampers and saved myself the headache of trying a bunch of other brands!

I would love to know: What are the newborn products you can’t live without? Comment below!¬†
