Sonia Kashuk’s Instagram

This month on Instagram, the beauty brand Sonia Kashuk {http://instagram.com/soniakashuk/} has been posting side by side comparisons between their products and the more high end ones. Sonia Kashuk makeup is only available at Target – their prices are amazing and the makeup is high-end quality! It has quickly become one of my favorites. The Instagram post pictured above is totally right on, I’ve owned both the SK primer and the MAC paint pot and they are almost identical. I wear the SK primer daily. I apply it under my eyes and on blemishes and it conceals all day long without budging. I’ve blogged before {Here’s the link >> http://wp.me/p3OOWt-5U} about how I think I could probably successfully cover a tattoo with this product!

Doterra Essential Oils

I’ve drank the cool-aid. I’ve been hearing SO much about doTerra Essential Oils recently, and I decided to try them for myself!  I AM IN LOVE! Each one smells heavenly and you only use a few drops at at time, so the bottles last forever. I ordered them from my sweet cousin Erika {Check out her doTerra page here >> http://www.mydoterra.com/erikaruth/}. I ordered the ones I think our family would use the most to try and replace the use of over the counter medicine and other things full of chemicals around our house. Between me, Daniel and Bronson I’ve used Lavender and Serenity oil every night for sleep, Lemon oil for cleaning products, Melaleuca Oil for an ingrown toe nail and athletes foot, Balance Oil every morning to balance my preggo hormones, Breathe Oil for times when the baby’s squishing my lungs :), Peppermint Oil for headaches….and the list goes on and on. The possibilities and uses for these bad boys is ENDLESS. I’m talking thousands of uses! They are expensive to get started, but the investment {to me} is priceless.

One Thousand Gifts book by Ann Voskamp

So…besides the Bible, I don’t think I’ve ever been impacted so much by a book. This book has literally changed my life. I read it cover to cover in less than a week and I’m starting it over again! I can’t get enough. It’s a look inside Ann Voskamp’s journey to JOY, PEACE, and EVERYTHING good God has promised to us through the concept of Eucharisteo. Here’s how Ann defines Eucharisteo in her own words:

You use a term in the book: eucharisteo. Can you explain what that means?

Yes, it’s all Greek to me, but this is the word that can change everything: eucharisteo—it comes right out of the Gospel of Luke: “And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them…” (Luke 22:19 NIV). In the original language, “he gave thanks” reads “eucharisteo.”

The root word of eucharisteo is charis, meaning “grace.” Jesus took the bread and saw it as graceand gave thanks. He took the bread and knew it to be gift and gave thanks. Eucharisteo, thanksgiving, envelopes the Greek word for grace, charis. But it also holds its derivative, the Greek word chara, meaning “joy.” Charis. Grace. Eucharisteo. Thanksgiving. Chara. Joy.

Giving thanks in ALL circumstances…even the hard ones. I’ve been inspired to start my own One Thousand Gifts journal, like Ann does in the book. All through out the day I write down the beauty I see all around me. From the way the clouds paint the morning sky, to the taste of an iced decaf vanilla late, and the way Bronson holds my hand in the car. Everything around me has come to life and things that I have seen a million times have a new beauty to them. I see God’s presence in SO many more places in my life. If you can, please get your hands on a copy of this book!
