My palms are sweating just in preparation of writing this. But I feel like it’s God-lead, so I will continue.

I am insecure.

There, I said it.

I know most girls/women are. Insecurity runs deep. So deep, that it roots itself like a weed in our hearts and minds. Pretty soon the weeds are over-grown and over-populating our bodies. Insecurity effects EV-ER-Y thing. From the way we walk, talk, look at people, gossip, dress, do our hair/makeup, to the choices we make, the relationships we have (or don’t have). Insecurity effects our decisions, our risks, our friends and our closeness to God.

This is all coming from a place of personal experience with insecurity. So needless to say when I decided to start Risse’s Little Pieces…I felt extremely insecure (and still do). EVERY time I post, I get these ugly messages from the enemy in my head. The weeds of insecurity grow taller and the roots grow deeper.

So today I got to thinking…What is it that I feel God is leading me to do with RLP? How can I use this blog for His glory and NOT my own?

Here’s my mission:

I want to make girls/women recognize and embrace their natural, God-Given beauty. I want to help women UPROOT insecurity, while on my own journey to do the same.

Yes, I love makeup. But I would never want this blog to encourage women to mask their beauty with makeup. I want to show them how to enhance what God has already given them. (And it doesn’t hurt to save money by finding amazing drug store products along the way πŸ˜‰ )

I am my own worst critic. I can analyze and pick myself apart worse than anyone else could do to me. But THANK GOD I have a Savior who loves me anyways. I know that all the negative and ugly self-talk I do to myself hurts His feelings. He hand-picked every feature of my body and mind and in His eyes, I am a perfect creation. I am molded by the same hands that created the Universe.

And so are you, my gorgeous friend.Β

So here’s where I’m headed. If you’ll let me, I’ll show you how to enhance your God-given beauty with fun and easy makeup and hair tips. Let me share with you beauty products that are tried,Β true and affordable. Let me share with you fun ideas for crafts, “mommy hood” and finding second-hand treasures.

And let’s start a revolution.

Let’s be the women that make people stop and stare at when we walk into a room. Not because of our outward appearance, or because of our clothes, hair and makeup. Let’s let our INNER beauty that He placed within us light up a room.Β

Let’s become some smokin’ hot Proverbs 31 babes. πŸ˜‰

And let’s uproot insecurity by being vulnerable with each other and BELIEVING God’s word about what HE thinks of us.

I need this more just as much as you do my sweet friend.

Absolutely! Young women making their way through Jr High/Highschool need to see that there is more to life than outward appearances πŸ™‚ But It’s hard, in a world that makes looks a top priority.
